El
argumento parte de una anécdota auténtica. El
descubrimiento, una noche de verano (trabajando en
el rodaje de George Lucas y Terry Jones de las Aventuras
del Joven Indiana Jones), de un nido de miles
de cucarachas bajo una reja en el suelo de la
plaza de Sant Agustí, al lado del mercado de la
Boquería, en Barcelona. Lo demás es sólo una
excusa para rellenar una estructura narrativa
planeada previamente: un nudo de flash-backs
que retorciesen el hilo argumental como una imagen
imposible de Escher. Conclusión: una historia sin
pasado ni futuro, de consecuencias sin causa
previa, y un núcleo temático falso para engañar
al espectador. En fin, un divertimento formal con
apariencia de historia moral.
Un
detalle interesante: en el cortometraje, el
protagonista tiene el hábito de acercar su oído
a la reja del suelo de la plaza para escuchar las
supuestas confidencias de un pájaro encerrado. Lo
que en realidad oye, aunque él no lo sepa, es el
chillido de las ratas que habitan abajo. Varios años
después del rodaje, se iniciaron obras de
remodelaje en la plaza, y se descubrió un grupo
de esqueletos humanos de varios siglos de antigüedad.
No es la primera vez que se halla algo curioso en
el subsuelo de una localización elegida por
Carlos Atanes (ver texto del cortometraje Borneo). |

The
story is because a true anecdote. The discovery,
during a summer night (working at a The
Adventures of the Young Indiana Jones TV
chapter, by George Lucas and Terry Jones), of a
thousand cockroachs home under a grille in the
ground of St. Agustin square, at Barcelona. The
rest is only an excuse to refill a narrative
structure thinked previously: a flash-backs
noose that twists the story-line like as an Escher
impossible image. Conclusion: a story without past
and without future, of consequences without a
cause, and a false subject, to mistake the
audience. At last, a formal amusement with moral
story aspect.
An
interesting detail: in the film, the starring
character
usually puts his ears near the ground grille at the square, to listen the supposed enclosed bird
confessions. Really, he listen the rats screams,
but he doesn't knows it. Some years later the
shooting, started the arrangement works on the
square, and it discovered a human skeletons group,
some centurys old. Isn't the first time it
discovers a curious think under the ground of a
place choosed by Carlos Atanes (see the text of
short-video Borneo). |
